This demonstrates, Andrew, your ignorance of modern Catholicism. The Pope is largely irrelevant to both the hierarchy and the laity in Australia. The treatment of Fr Peter Kennedy and St Mary’s is an aberration.
Have you heard of the oral contraceptive?

He has thrown a little tanty because I suggested that he was ignorant of modern Catholic practice in Australia, in that we really don't pay much attention to Papal infallibility.

Apparently Andrew believes that this statement of an inconvenient reality (in terms of how he sees the world) is stupid.

What is more than a little strange, given the bigotry daily displayed on his blog, is that he didn't let it through to attract the obvious odium that would have followed as night follows the day.

Maybe there was a risk that somewhere in the discourse that would have followed, the slipshod nature of his use of this reference would have been revealed.
